IPAFF

Now that the UK has left the EU, you will no longer be able to use the EU’s TRACES (Trade Control and Expert System) to verify GB imports from outside the EU and EEA countries.

The substitution system, the Product, Animal, Food and Feed Import System (IPAFFS), should now be used.

IPAFFS is a web-based service for the application and issuance of Common Health Entry Documents (CHEDs) for imports of live animals, their products and germplasm from outside the EU and EEA. IPAFFS is the system used to notify CU authorities of the movement of livestock, their products and germplasm from countries outside the EU and EEA to the CU.

From January 2022, when the need for advance notification of imports of animal and plant products became a necessity, the Customs Office began assisting its customers by offering an IPAFF registration service.
